According to the child law of 2019 and the Education policy of 2005 which was improved in 2023. All of them together point to the government's mission to bring out and develop the child's talent. It is a clear fact that a child's talent reflects a large part of the destiny of she/his future life because it is a natural ability within the human genetic system, which if that ability it is brought out early and developed in the child, will help in the coming days having innovative professionals and active sportsmen in various national fields.
Tanzania Talented Child Award, is a national program that aims to stimulate enthusiasm among Pre-Primary and Primary Schools, participate in raising and developing talented children in Tanzania, aged between 3-14 years.
In addition; This program aims to create a positive attitude among parents and society, on their participation in developing their children's talents by recognizing the contribution of the child's talent in the development of the child in the future.
Currently, the Competition to identify talented children focuses on six areas of talent, however in the future may expand. The calendar for the implementation of the Festival to give awards to schools and talented children in Tanzania will be held once a year, equivalent to one season.
Recognition of children's talents will be held in talent clubs established by TCA in all centers of Pre-Primary and Primary schools in collaboration with the principals of the respective schools, and included in competitions for talented children in the respective ward. Similarly, six (6) children from each school will compete to get six (6) ward level winners who will represent the ward in the district competition.
And the six winners at the District level will represent the District in the Regional competition. And the six regional level winners will represent the region in the national competition. Where nationally we will find six winners, each representing the school they have from and one of the six talent areas that are contested.
Winning crown, Awards and various prizes will be given to the winners of those titles and the schools they come from, as will be recommended by the competition committee, considering the size of the donation or the resources obtained in the relevant season of the Festival.
National winners will represent Tanzania in various concerts of talented children in the world and become ambassadors of talented children nationally. While the schools that have done well by providing winners will have the opportunity to connect with various talent academies in the world with the aim of learning more about how to identify and develop the talents of children and get mutual cooperation.
The winners will hold their crown for a period of one year and will hand over their crowns to new winners next season.
